Granola Bread Recipes

Granola Bread

Shopping List:
1 cup warm water (about 85 degrees)
1 package active dry yeast
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon honey or molasses
2 tablespoons oil
2 to 2 ½ cups unsifted flour
1 ¼ cups Nature’s Hand granola

What to do:
In large bowl, soften yeast in warm water.  Stir in salt, honey, oil and 1 ½ cups of flour; beat well.  Stir in granola and remaining flour to form stiff dough.  Knead on floured surface until smooth, about 8 minutes.  Cover and let rise in warm place (85 degrees) until dough is double in size.  Punch down dough and shape into a loaf.  Place in greased 9x5 inch loaf pan.  Cover and let rise until double in size, about 45 minutes.  Bake at 350 degrees for 40 to 45 minutes or until golden brown and loaf sounds hollow when tapped.  Remove from pan and cool. (1 loaf)

Use this same dough for making rolls, hamburger buns or cinnamon rolls, too.  Shape dough as directed in favorite recipe, reducing baking temperature by 25 degrees.
