Holiday Granola Recipes
Toffee Candy
Shopping List:
½
cup butter or margarine
¾ cup firmly
packed brown sugar
2 cups Nature’s
Hand granola
1 cup (6 oz pkg.)
chocolate chips
What
to do:In
medium saucepan, heat butter
and brown sugar until mixture boils; boil 1 minute. Remove
from
heat and stir in granola. Turn onto ungreased baking sheet
and
press to
¼ inch thickness. Sprinkle chocolate
chips evenly over top. Place in warm
oven a few minutes until chips become glossy.
With back of spoon, spread chocolate to frost candy.
Refrigerate
to set chocolate. Break into
pieces.
Holiday Tea Cakes
Shopping List:1 cup butter or
margarine,
softened
½ cup powdered sugar
½ teaspoon almond
extract
2 cups unsifted all-purpose flour
¼ teaspoon
salt
1 ¼ cups Nature’s Hand granola
½ cup chopped
candied cherries
What to do:Cream together butter and
powdered
sugar. Mix in extract, flour and salt;
stir in granola and cherries. Shape into
1-inch balls and place 1 inch apart on ungreased baking
sheet. Bake at 325 degrees for 15 minutes or until
set but not brown. Cool slightly; roll
in additional powdered sugar. (4
dozen)
Peanut Butter Honeycomb Bars
Shopping
List:½ cup firmly pack brown sugar
½
cup honey
½ cup peanut butter
½ teaspoon
vanilla
3 cups Nature’s Hand
granola
What
to do:In medium saucepan, combine brown
sugar and honey. Heat to boiling; remove
from heat. Stir in peanut butter and
vanilla. Mix in granola just until
coated. Turn onto baking sheet or wax
paper and pat to ½ inch thickness. Cool
completely; cut into bars.
Honey Rum Pie
Shopping
List:1/3 cup butter or
margarine
¼ cup firmly packed brown sugar
1 ½ cups
Nature’s Hand granola
2 tablespoons honey
2
tablespoons rum or 2 teaspoons
rum flavoring
½ teaspoon nutmeg
1 quart French
vanilla ice cream
What to do:In medium saucepan, heat
butter
and brown sugar until mixture boils. Remove
from heat and stir in granola. Reserve
about 1/3 cup of mixture; press remaining mixture on bottom and sides
of 9 inch
pie pan. Cool.
Combine
honey, rum and
nutmeg. Spoon half of ice cream into pie
shell. Drizzle with half of the
honey-rum mixture. Top with remaining
ice cream; drizzle with remaining honey-rum mixture. Sprinkle
with reserved granola mixture. Freeze until served. (9 inch
pie)
Cheesy Appetizer Snacks
Shopping List:¼
cup butter or margarine,
softened
1 ½ cups (6 oz) shredded cheddar
cheese
½ cup unsifted all purpose or
whole wheat flour
1 teaspoon Worcestershire
sauce
Dash Tabasco sauce
½ cup Nature’s Hand
granola
What
to do:Combine butter and cheese; mix in
remaining ingredients until dough forms.
Shape into ½ inch balls and place 2 inches apart on lightly greased
baking sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 10
to 12 minutes or until lightly browned.
I desired,
shape dough into balls
and freeze up to 2 months. Bake frozen
balls as directed increasing baking time by 15
minutes.
Spicy Granola Snaps
Shopping List:¾ cup butter or
margarine,
softened
¾ cup firmly packed brown sugar
1
egg
¼ cup molasses
1 ¾ cups unsifted flour
2
teaspoons soda
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon
cinnamon
¼ teaspoon cloves
¼ teaspoon
ginger
1 ½ cups Nature’s Hand
granola
What
to do:Cream
together brown sugar and
butter. Beat in egg and molasses. Stir in remaining
ingredients. Chill dough 1 hour. Shape dough into
balls. Roll in sugar. Place 2 inches apart on
ungreased
baking
sheets. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 to 12
minutes. Cool a few minutes before
removing from pan. (5 dozen
cookies)
Pumpkin Pie Squares
Shopping List:1/3 cup firmly packed
brown sugar
1/3 cup butter or margarine,
softened
¾ cup unsifted all purpose or
whole wheat flour
1 cup Nature’s Hand granola
1 can
(1 lb) pumpkin
1 can (13 fl. oz.) evaporated milk
2
eggs
¾ cup firmly packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon
cinnamon
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon nutmeg
½
teaspoon ginger
¼ teaspoon cloves
What to do:Mix
brown sugar,
butter and flour until crumbly. Stir in
granola. Press on bottom of 13x9 inch
baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 10
minutes.
Meanwhile,
beat together remaining ingredients.
Pour over partially baked crust.
Bake 35 to 40 minutes or until knife inserted near center comes out
clean. Cool. Serve cut squares topped with whipped
cream
and additional granola. (12 to 15
servings)
